Main Responsibilities
- Lead and manage cross-functional engineering teams (backend, mobile, product engineers) 10–25 engineers (depending on the EM seniority) across up to 4 cross-functional teams.
- Own people management (professional development, performance reviews, conflict resolution), building healthy, motivated, and high-performing teams.
- Hire new engineers with either strong experience or high potential while not compromising culture
- Onboard, support and ensure the wellbeing of high-quality engineers.
- Be responsible for building, scaling, and coaching teams in a fast-evolving engineering organization.
- Ensure strong execution, ownership, and accountability across teams.
- Improve processes, workflows, and collaboration.
- Identify people and team performance issues early and resolve them pragmatically.
- Drive team structure and culture improvements as the org evolves.
- Work as the connecting glue between Teams, Project Leads, Product Owners and Staff Engineers - ensuring everyone has the necessary context and are enabled to move forward.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership.
- Be trusted to challenge ideas, give feedback upward, and influence strategy.
- Function as a strong, independent voice inside leadership discussions.
- Act as a role model for discipline, accountability, and ownership.
- Work from the Vilnius or Warsaw office and set a visible leadership presence.
Core Requirements
- At least 2-3 years of experience leading a team of software engineers.
- Solid software development background, and either experience or a desire to develop an understanding of the mobile applications domain.
- You’re not expected to write the code, but you’ll need to understand the logic of the system.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Openness to collaborate and mentor team members, while also sharing practical knowledge and trends.
- Team-spirited, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to come up with cross-platform solutions together with the team in a timely manner.
- Proactiveness in constantly developing innovative solutions while tracking the teams' metrics.
Salary Range
- Gross salary: 5000 — 8600 EUR/Month
