Main Responsibilities
- Create software tools tailored to the organization's needs, such as automation scripts, data processing tools, monitoring dashboards, and workflow management systems.
- Develop, maintain, and integrate with both internal and third-party application programming interfaces (APIs) that enable communication and data exchange between different software systems and services within the organization.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for internal tools, including user guides, technical specifications, and troubleshooting instructions.
- Collaborate with other IT professionals and stakeholders to align internal tool development efforts with overall business objectives and priorities.
- Follow industry best practices and coding standards to ensure internal tools and APIs' reliability, scalability, and security. This includes writing clean, maintainable code, reviewing code, implementing error-handling mechanisms, and adhering to security guidelines.
- Continuously seek opportunities to innovate, streamline processes, and enhance the organization's capabilities through technology.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices related to software development, internal tools, and APIs.
Core Requirements
- Strong understanding and proficiency in a high-level programming language, preferably Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, including adherence to best practices for documentation, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Familiarity with common software engineering patterns and practices.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure), preferably AWS.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests.
- Proficiency in integrating and working with third-party APIs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyse complex problems, troubleshoot issues, and develop practical solutions.
- Initiative and ability to work independently.
