The Infrastructure department is responsible for influencing and tracking change, providing frontline support, and delivering software-defined solutions. 

A Database Administrator (DBA) serves as a critical intermediary between technical leads and DevOps teams, specializing in the management and optimization of databases within production environments. Their primary responsibilities include facilitating database migrations delegated from technical leads to the DBA, and acting as a liaison between DevOps teams and various squads. They are instrumental in monitoring production databases, implementing optimizations, and managing the upscaling of servers as needed.
In addition to these core duties, DBAs collaborate closely with technical leads, DevOps engineers, and squads to ensure the efficient operation and performance of databases in production environments. They play a key role in maintaining data integrity, optimizing database performance, and implementing best practices to support the scalability and reliability of database systems.

Main Responsibilities

  • Facilitating database migrations delegated from technical leads to the DBA, ensuring smooth and efficient transitions with minimal downtime.
  • Serving as a middleman between DevOps teams and squads, monitoring production databases, implementing optimizations, and managing server upscaling as required.
  • Collaborating with technical leads, DevOps engineers, and squads to identify and resolve database-related issues, optimize database performance, and ensure data integrity.
  • Implementing best practices for database management, including backup and recovery procedures, security protocols, and performance tuning strategies.
  • Reviewing and optimizing new and existing DB queries to ensure the correct utilization of resources and data structures.
  • Researching and implementing data management strategies and technologies, including those relevant to NoSQL databases and specialized use cases.
  • Providing guidance and expertise to squads on database-related matters, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling.
  • Supporting the implementation of database changes and upgrades, ensuring compatibility and minimal disruption to production environments

Core Requirements

  • At least basic Linux Experience (knowledge and usage). MySQL Administration Experience - Preferably with Management of DB Clusters and/or High-Availability setups. 
  • Experience with SQL queries optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with fine-tuning DBs internal configurations (Resources (IO, Processing and Memory) management.
  • Experience with DBs monitoring setup and scaling (DB Usage, Issues, Reporting).
  • Experience with MySQL backup strategies and best practices.

Bonus Points For

  • NoSQL database experience is a big plus.
  • Advanced Linux knowledge (Scripting, Networking, Firewall management, etc.).

Salary Range

  • Gross Salary 14900 - 29500 PLN/month, employment contract.
