Our Legal team is a team of attentive professionals who deal with a variety of issues, including privacy, intellectual property, employment, compliance, mergers, and acquisitions. As legal business partners, we ensure the quality and efficiency of the organization.

As a Product Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal support to some of Nord Security’s biggest products, including NordVPN. You will work closely with technical teams, help identify and mitigate legal risks related to product development and market placement, and act as a liaison between product owners and the legal department. You will report to the Lead Product Legal Counsel and will be a member of the Product & Engineering Legal Team.

Main Responsibilites

  • Providing daily legal advice on various copyright, IP, open-source, technology, and privacy law issues.
  • Acting as a legal partner and problem solver for the product, software engineering, and IT infrastructure teams by researching and evaluating different legal issues and risk factors to provide strategic guidance.
  • Providing business-oriented, practical legal advice and suggesting risk mitigation strategies for current product features as well as new initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation across multiple jurisdictions in cooperation with the Product Legal Team.
  • Reviewing and negotiating a variety of software, database, trademark, IT service, marketing, and other agreements with vendors.
  • Establishing and maintaining processes to minimize the need for extensive legal support in routine tasks.
  • Keeping up with market developments, proactively contributing ideas, and working in close cooperation with other lawyers on the legal team and various stakeholders at Nord Security.

Core Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Law.
  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably with some of it in-house. Experience in the tech sector is a plus.
  • Strong expertise in IP/IT and privacy law issues.
  • Good understanding of regulations on payment services, electronic communications, consumer protection, and marketing as well as knowledge of new or upcoming regulations on digital markets and services would be advantageous.
  • Ability to provide and coordinate legal guidance on a wide range of legal issues across various jurisdictions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Experience in negotiating complex agreements (experience with different types of IP/IT agreements would be advantageous).
  • Strong logical thinking, analytical skills, and business-mindedness.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience working in a diverse and international environment would be an advantage.
  • Keen interest in technology and innovation.
  • A sense of adventure and willingness to stay nimble and learn new things.

Salary Range

  • Gross Salary 3310 – 6120 EUR/Month.
