The Backend guild's main responsibility is to have stable, reliable and fast cloud for data storage. We provide platform to have secure data synchronisation between all NordPass applications and web based systems. We get to touch not only server, but also client side: we’re responsible for encrypting, handling and synchronizing data between frontend application and our cloud - this is done through background application which lives in all of our clients computers. Democracy helps us to be not one-men-opinion team. Everybody’s experience, suggestions and ideas are discussed at team level to reach best results and stay away from code smells.

We are seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join our dynamic Research and Development team. In this role you will architecture and implement innovative projects, collaborate closely with UX designers and frontend engineers and contribute to groundbreaking solutions. For the moment our biggest topics are Passkeys, a new Passwordless SaaS product and some other general user experience improvements. If you like to explore some new lands, contribute to important strategic topics and build some proof of concepts and MVPs, join us on this mission.

Main Responsibilities

Be responsible for writing clear, tested, documented code that delivers real business value;
Be involved in creating APIs that are useful for developers (both internally and externally);
Together with our core team deliver quality code-based solutions;
Contribute to app technical decisions, architecture, process, etc.;
Contribute to technical tasks, feedback forms, and technical interviews.

Core Requirements

At least 3+ years of experience working with PHP;
Understanding of OOP principles & good code design;
Previous experience in building highly scalable systems;
That you know a thing or two about API design;
Good (My)SQL knowledge and experience with big data quantities.

Bonus Points For

Knowledge of Docker, RabbitMQ and Redis.
