The Threat Protection department is responsible for all of the cybersecurity features inside our products to secure our users from malicious actions and ensure customer privacy. To achieve the desired security goals, we are sharp and base our attitude on high ethical standards and integrity.

The Threat Protection Team’s mission is encoded in its name - we provide threat protection software-defined solutions for our users. Our team is passionate about solving complex systems, network, software development, automation, and programming-related riddles. Our projects vary from the privacy of the user to malware protection. Main Responsibilities

  • Drive one of a team delivering Threat Protection functionality for the NordVPN application and increase our customers’ digital security;
  • Own the output of a development team
  • Plan and follow team’s technical and delivery goals
  • Keep the team focused, tracking roadblocks that slow down team delivery, facilitate resolution
  • Stays continuously aware of the latest security practices and developments, ensures those practices are followed
  • Empower developers to collaborate & resolve blockers before their active hands-on participation
  • Ensure that team is timely resolving any issues
  • Proactively guides the development of team members by preparing their personal & career development plans
  • Proactively connects & collaborates with team members to solve problems and technical debates

Core Requirements

  • Understand the business goals and vision of a product and see how your team contributes to it
  • Experience with C/C++
  • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Object-Oriented Design (OOD) mindset;
  • Some Network stack knowledge and low-level programming experience in general;
  • Sufficient expertise to make technical solutions, contribute to the codebase and perform quality code reviews
  • Windows API and Kernel experience is a big plus;
  • A high sense of responsibility and ownership: you care about the quality of your work and want to get better at it continuously;
  • Open communication style and transparency;
  • Positive attitude towards feedback, new ideas, self-improvement, and others.

Bonus Points For

  • Windows API and Kernel experience is a big plus;
  • Apple/Mac/Linux expertise is a plus.
